Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Software Tester to work with the application development team and ensure product quality throughout the software development lifecycle. A significant part of the role is to create and maintain test documentation for audit purposes with the support of the Quality Manager. You will be working within a regulatory-compliant environment and we will provide necessary standards training as you require it.
This is an on-site role based in Oakington, Cambridgeshire, with the opportunity to work from home occasionally.
As a Junior Software Tester, your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the application development team to ensure product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Designing comprehensive test cases to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Identifying test scenarios based on requirements or user stories.
- Utilising manual testing techniques such as black-box testing, functional testing, regression testing, and exploratory testing.
- Reporting and documenting software defects effectively.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for compliance with industry standards.
- Generating required test reports and logs.
About You
You must meet all national requirements to be allowed to be employed in the UK
Knowledge and qualifications
- Possess a degree in IT, Business, Mathematics, or previous experience in a testing role.
- Holding an ISTQB qualification (desirable).
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Understanding of test case design and performing manual tests.
- Understanding different testing techniques, including black-box testing, functional testing, regression testing, and exploratory testing.
- Ability to create and maintain documentation for compliance with industry standards is required.
- Ability to generate required test reports and logs is necessary.
- Be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal form, in a professional manner.
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken business English.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with Selenium or a strong willingness to learn and work with Selenium.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment such as the NHS or healthcare industry.
- Have familiarity with the requirements and standards of ISO 13485, ensuring documentation meets regulatory compliance.
