L2S2's mission is to enable next generation healthtech, medical devices and AI to move rapidly from the lab to frontline care, to benefit as many patients as possible, as soon as possible.

L2S2 has specialised in healthcare software from its start. The quality, audit and security requirements of healthcare applications have always informed all of our work.

Assistance from the Technology Strategy Board and a European Union FP7 grant allowed us to start to work on a dream – software that could be quickly configured to create regulatory compliant, sophisticated and high quality applications supported by world-class specialist medical data management. We have also invested heavily ourselves in the technology ever since and continue to do so.

MMDC is the dream realised. It is a credit to the expert, creative engineers who work at L2S2. New sophisticated and fully featured applications take a fraction of the time to create compared to standard development methods.

At L2S2 we have also invested heavily in infrastructure and quality. We have set up multiple resilient and secure hosting facilities with fibre connections to the internet (and in the UK to the NHS private HCSN (formerly N3) network), with fail-over to secondary sites.

Our systems meet NHS IT requirements, GxP, MDR, GDPR, HIPAA, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11. We are accredited to ISO 27001:2013, ISO 13485:2016, NHS Digital Data Security and Protection Toolkit and Cyber Essentials.

Dr Philip Gaffney OBE

When Philip Gaffney founded L2S2 he mused about developing software that let users easily create their own applications.

Then he realised that an ISO13485 accredited platform for rapid development that complied to medical device (MedDev) and research (GxP) standards could be a game changer.

Particularly if the platform provided world-class compliant (GDPR) data management & connected into healthcare IT systems.

So he created it.

Jane Aldridge MA

CBDO / CFO / Co-founder

Jane Aldridge has always worked at the cutting edge of technology to create value from technical innovation.

She set up a company to provide image analysis solutions to research scientists that took 50% of the UK market from under the noses of the large incumbent suppliers. Then she expanded operations into Europe.

She set up a company to allow extra large files and folders to be sent as if they were email attachments, and then sold the company to a major logistics player.

Now Jane develops L2S2's strategy and works to realise the route forward.
